Kapital is building AI-native banking for small and mid-size businesses in Latin America. Regional SMBs face a structural gap: they are too small for corporate banking coverage yet too complex for consumer products, so they run finances across spreadsheets, personal accounts, and payment processors that do not talk to each other. Kapital combines an operating account, corporate cards, credit, and financial management software so that transaction data becomes the basis for both bookkeeping and underwriting rather than a monthly reconciliation chore.

Owning the account changes the credit problem. Instead of relying on filed statements or collateral, Kapital can underwrite from observed cash flow, which is what makes lending viable for businesses that formal banks decline. Backed since 2022 and most recently valued at 1.3 billion dollars, the company has expanded across Mexico and neighbouring markets. It is a deep-domain investment: the difficulty is licensing, local payment rails, and risk models, not the software layer on top.
